The Black Deck is an unlockable deck which provides +1 Joker slot, but -1 Hand each round. This deck is unlocked by discovering at least 100 items in the collection.

It contains the usual 52 cards that a normal deck of cards includes: four suits, each with 13 cards (2 to 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace).

Poker Hands[]
The early game on the Black Deck is much more difficult than with any other deck, since with one less hand, 5 less cards can be seen, which makes building around 5-card hands more difficult, but smaller hands (such as High Card) can be even worse, since one can only play 3 of them per round (instead of 4). The ā1 hand also results in one less dollar made at the end of the deck. The extra joker slot doesn't matter much in the early game, since it may take many rounds to actually fill and utilize that 6th joker slot, but if one can survive the tougher early game, then the extra joker slot provides a much higher ceiling for scoring in the late game.
Jokers[]
As the Black deck, you should be more willing to take temporary strength such as Popcorn, in order to stay alive.
These are some jokers which benefit from the extra joker slot or -1 hand size:
- Gros Michel can be good, as it's easier to hold for a long time in order to evolve into Cavendish, and the extra mult is good for surviving early game.
- Swashbuckler and Abstract Joker give more flat mult.
- Riff-Raff has extra slots to create jokers into.
- Joker Stencil gives 6x instead of 5x if all slots are empty.
- Baseball Card can trigger off of more uncommon jokers.
- Campfire is easier to sell jokers for.
- Burglar practically doubles the amount of hands you can play.
- Gift Card increases the sell value of even more jokers.
- You are more likely to have an open slot to buy Diet Cola, which you can then sell.
- Because of the lowered amount of hands, Acrobat takes less hands to trigger.
- Ceremonial Dagger appreciates the extra Joker slot, as one can still have five Jokers while scaling Dagger.
- Blueprint and Brainstorm could be efficient to duplicate a synergy to avoid having to hunt for specific jokers throughout the game.
- Showman can also be viable, but a slot is wasted until a duplicate Joker appears in the shop.
Jokers which are worse on the Black deck include:
- Vagabond and Reserved Parking suffer from the 1 less hand, as jokers which generate a resource when a hand is played have less opportunities to trigger.
- Card Sharp can activate one less time.
- Troubadour's -1 hand per round penalty means players will only have 2 hands to beat each blind.
- Invisible Joker is more likely to copy an unwanted joker.
Tarot Cards to pick :
- Judgement is a good choice, as filling out your joker slots, even with bad jokers, can help you survive the early game.
Vouchers to pick:
- Grabber can be useful, as it negates the deck's -1 hand penalty
- Wasteful can provide more discards to help assemble powerful hands.
- Blank / Antimatter can be powerful if you want to go all in on Joker slots.
