Blueprint is a Rare Effect Joker that copies the effect of the Joker to its immediate right. Not all Jokers are compatible with Blueprint, as Blueprint cannot copy any "passive modifier" effects, but Blueprint itself is compatible. Blueprint's compatibility with other Jokers can be seen in its tooltip.
In general, Blueprint will not copy the following effects:
- Anything that triggers at the end of a round (ex. Golden Joker)
- Debuffed Jokers
- Card Edition effects
- Sticker effects
- Destruction
- Joker scaling (only the final result is copied)
- Changes to hands, discards, hand size or hand typing (except for Burglar, which triggers after the blind starts)
- Passive effects (like Chicot or Pareidolia)
See Incompatible Jokers for a full list.
Synergies[]
Decks[]
By its nature, any deck can make effective use of Blueprint. Its effect is highly flexible and can benefit nearly any archetype of deck, aside from Madness without Eternal Stickers.
Poker Hands[]
Any hand can benefit from Blueprint in the usual ways. The only hand-specific Jokers that are incompatible with Blueprint are independent effects such as Shortcut.
Jokers[]
Blueprint is an essential Joker and combines well with virtually any other Joker to double its effect.
- When stacked with Brainstorm or another Blueprint, each will add one more copy of the copied effect.
- When combining Blueprint with Brainstorm, Blueprint can be placed to the left of Brainstorm or to the left of the leftmost Joker (to be copied), depending on the desired order of Joker activation.
- As a rule of thumb, copying a Joker with X Mult or retrigger is usually better than copying +Chips or +Mult. The optimal placement for maximum score can be difficult to determine, so consider all possible options.
- When multiple copies are combined with Baron and Mime, while using Plasma Deck, players can achieve the elusive Naneinf score.
- Copying a Joker that earns $money or creates cards (especially Tarot) is a great option when boosting score is not necessary.
- When copying chance-based Jokers like Space Joker, the chance is rolled independently for each copy of that Joker. This means if one Joker triggers, the copies are not guaranteed to trigger at the same time.
- A few Jokers have both "trigger" effects that Blueprint can copy and "passive" ones that it cannot. Stuntman, for example, gives +250 Chips, a "trigger" effect, and -2 Hand Size, a "passive" effect. Therefore, Blueprint copies the +250 Chips, but not the -2 Hand Size.
- If jokers that take effect upon selling them (Luchador and Diet Cola) get copied, Blueprint can be sold to trigger the effect.
- However, on mobile devices, dragging Blueprint to sell it could change the order of Jokers, changing its effect.
- Moving Blueprint can often maximize its potential by always copying the most important Joker for the next action taken. Once a Poker hand is played, Blueprint will continue copying the last Joker to its right, even if it is moved around afterward. For example, one round could involve copying:
- Perkeo when exiting the shop
- Cartomancer when starting the Blind
- Burnt Joker during the first discard
- DNA during the first hand
- Business Card during the following hands while playing face cards
- Mail-In Rebate during the following discards
- Acrobat during the final hand
- Mime during the calculation of the winning hand, doubling the bonus from Blue Seals and Gold Cards at the end of round

Blinds[]
Amber Acorn: This boss blind flips and shuffles Jokers around, which can make Blueprint copy the wrong Joker, or copy nothing at all if it happens to be moved to the rightmost position, for at least one hand. Since Blueprint does not have a unique shape, it is likely to be indistinguishable from your other Jokers when viewed from the back, increasing the likelihood that you attempt to copy the wrong Joker, or none at all. This is possibly Blueprint's only potential disadvantage compared to Brainstorm, which itself does have a unique shape and can be easily identified by its sharp, non-rounded top-right corner when viewed from the back.
Trivia[]
- Certain visuals upon triggering a Joker effect, like the "Level Up!" from a copied Space Joker, have a blue background instead of the standard orange one.
- The card art depicts a deliberate, professionally-produced blueprint. This is in contrast with the rough 'back of the napkin' sketching of Brainstorm.
- The background art used to span the whole card pre-release.
- The Joker in the art is looking to its left (the right of the card), at the Joker it is copying.
