Business Card is a common Joker that can reward you financially for playing face cards, with a 1 in 2 chance to earn $2 every time a face card is scored.
Synergies[]
Decks[]
- Abandoned Deck starts with no face cards, making Business Card pretty much useless unless you have Pareidolia.
- Erratic Deck can work really well with Business Card if the random nature of that deck allows you to start with a large number of face cards.
Poker Hands[]
Business Card wants you to play many face cards all at once. Therefore, the best hands you could play with this are ones that have the most face cards in them (preferably 5). Full House is the easiest to access early on and can be fairly consistent. Later on in the game, Four of a Kind or Five of a Kind hands can give just as much of a chance for money but can often score higher as long as your Full House isn't upgraded as much. Later in the game you can also access Flush House and Flush Five for an even bigger increase in score.
Jokers[]
- Synergies:
- Pareidolia enables Business Card to pay out on any played card.
- Oops! All 6s guarantees payout from Business Card.
- Retrigger jokers that affect face cards, such as Sock and Buskin or Seltzer, allow Business Card to pay out more than once.
- Splash allows Business Card to affect all face cards played by making them all score.
- Midas Mask's ability turns all face cards gold, resulting in more income.
- Other jokers that increase the scoring of played face cards (e.g. Scary Face for + Chips, Smiley Face for + Mult, and Triboulet for X Mult) provide additional benefit when face cards are played.
- Reserved Parking provides income on unplayed face cards, so having both this Joker and Business Card in a face card focused deck can provide a steady stream of money.
- Anti-Synergies:
- Ride the Bus requires face cards to not be played in order to grow its Mult bonus.
- Canio's ability activates only upon destroying face cards, resulting in fewer cards able to trigger Business Card.
Consumables and Card Modifiers[]
Adding more face cards to your deck can be helpful when using this joker. Therefore, cards like Cryptid or Death, can copy your face cards and their enhancements to make a much stronger and more consistent deck. Death can also be used as a way to "remove" a non-face card by changing it into a face card. Hanged Man is also useful for removing any non-face cards from your deck and slimming your deck to make it more consistent. Familiar also works to add more enhanced face cards to your deck as well as potentially remove non-face cards. The best way to get new face cards from the shop is likely going to be through Standard Packs.
Red seals work quite well with Business Card as any face card with a red seal on it will trigger itself twice when played. Enabling it to have another chance at triggering Business Card for more money.
Trivia[]
- Business cards often show the name, contact details, and other information of the person handing them out. They may even include imagery, watermarks or QR codes. In some industries, the quality and style of an individual's business card directly impact the perception of the said person among colleagues and peers, as can be seen in this (slightly exaggerated) scene from the film American Psycho.
