Red Deck provides an additional discard, which increases the money earned when this Joker is triggered.- Painted Deck has a larger hand size, which increases the likelihood of drawing a strong Poker Hand without discarding.
Poker Hands[]
This Joker disincentivizes discarding, so it is recommended to play more common Poker Hands like High Card, Pair, Two Pair, or Three of a Kind.
Jokers[]
- Works well with any jokers that reward you for not discarding, especially Banner and Green Joker.
- Any Joker which increases the number of discards (for example, Drunkard or Merry Andy) will benefit Delayed Gratification.
- Jokers that make poker hands easier to make, like Shortcut, Four Fingers or Smeared Joker decline the need to discards, thus make Delayed Gratification have more change to take effect.
Blinds[]
- The Hookās forced discards are also considered and will prevent Delayed Gratification from taking effect.
