The Idol is a Joker that provides x2 Mult when a card with a chosen rank and suit is scored. For example, the card may be an Ace of Spades, or 7 of Diamonds. The chosen card is decided at the end of each round by selecting a random card from your deck.

Abandoned Deck can make it easier to manipulate the deck into one type of card due to the reduced number of starting cards.- Zodiac Deck starts with Tarot Merchant which can be helpful to manipulate the deck in your favor using Tarot Cards.
- Checkered Deck starts with 2 of every card rather than 1, making The Idol slightly more consistent to activate in the early game.
Poker Hands[]
- Flush Five works exceptionally well with The Idol because it can trigger the effect 5 times, plus any additional retriggers from Jokers or Red Seals.
- If using The Idol, it's best to play a Flush Five as soon as possible in order to unlock its respective Planet Card, Eris.
- In the early to midgame, one can make do with Three of a Kind and Four of a Kind, assuming the correct card is chosen by The Idol. Due to the highly random nature of the card, you will likely want more reliable sources of score before you can fully utilize it. That said, using this joker in the early to midgame is nearly impossible.
Jokers[]
- Jokers that retrigger scored cards, such as Dusk or Hack, will compound the multiplication immensely.
- Jokers that help manipulate the deck to fewer types of cards will make the randomly chosen card more likely to be desirable. DNA or Trading Card are the most important jokers for accomplishing this.
Consumables[]
- The Hanged Man and Death can be used to remove undesired card(s), making The Idol more consistent. Thus, Vagabond can be one of the best ways to enable The Idol.
- The Tower can also be used to make The Idol more consistent, as The Idol cannot choose a Stone card to buff.
Strategy[]
- If you have more of one card type than another, it will be proportionally likely for that card type to be chosen.
- While it can be underwhelming early game, it excels late game when the proper deck manipulation can be put into place. However, it is one of the more difficult Jokers to extract the most use out of.
- The best cards to build around are those that can be retriggered more times by other Jokers. 2's, 3's, 4's, and 5's can be retriggered by Hack, while face cards (J, Q, K) can be retriggered by Sock and Buskin.
